United States: Three days before Russia launched its full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian people remained emotionally drained and full of tension, exactly as they did during the pre-invasion period.
At present, Ukrainians face threats from sources beyond their traditional longtime archenemy. Ukraine faces its most critical threat from the United States since the country emerged as an ally against Russia.
More about the news
Several of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s most outspoken critics joined other citizens in standing behind him following Trump’s baseless claim about Russia’s Ukraine leader being a “dictator” who launched the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to Kateryna Karaush, a 25-year-old tech worker from Kyiv who, like many Ukrainians — and even some Republicans in Congress, is trying hard to make her mind around Trump’s embrace of Russia, which represents a major about-face in US foreign policy, “Yes, he’s not a perfect president, but he’s not a dictator,” AP News reported.
“It feels like the whole world is against us,” Karaush added.
American support seems to weaken as President Donald Trump continues with Vladimir Putin’s reasoning to stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Trump’s attempts to denigrate Zelenskyy lead to a surge in Ukrainian unity. All Ukrainians around the world are UNITED. United there are many of us. That’s why enemies, adversaries and fair weather friends will lose. Glory to Ukraine! #StandWithUkraine https://t.co/OGmhTX6JDg pic.twitter.com/AdnRF6yd33

The Ukrainian nation started to lose its united stance during the ongoing military conflict as previous political disagreements returned to persist.
This unexpected alliance has once again boosted national unity in Ukraine.
Two years of continuous combat warfare has left every Ukrainian army unit, as well as all civilian residents, depleted.
The war has led to hundreds of thousands of casualties, including thousands of people missing, besides forcing millions of people to leave their homes.
Recent announcements from Trump about immediate conflict resolution have darkened the mood because these proposed terms favor Russia, according to Zelenskyy and many Western supporters.
Trump called Zelenskyy “a dictator”
Zelenskyy’s defense has gained support from his domestic opponents after Trump incorrectly branded the political leader a “dictator” for postponing elections last year while diplomatic meetings in Saudi Arabia reportedly discussed ceasing conflict without Ukrainian involvement.
As per Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a lawmaker from the opposition party Holos, “We may have different opinions about Zelenskyy, but only Ukrainian citizens have the right to judge his support,” AP News reported.
“And to publicly criticize him too because, in the end, he is our elected leader,” Zhelezniak continued.
The harsh comments Trump made about Zelenskyy have received strong opposition from Democrats alongside Republican members in the US Congress who back funding military support to Ukraine.
JD Vance criticized Zelenskyy during a speech for alerting Trump about Russian propaganda at that moment.
