United States: A 23-year-old Colombian woman, Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodriguez, known as “The Doll,” was arrested for her involvement in several gangland murders, including the recent killing of her ex-lover. Police say she worked for the Los de la M gang and is suspected of carrying out targeted killings in Barrancabermeja.
Rodriguez was supposedly in the middle of a career growth where he was leading a small group of hitmen who were on a rampage in the area before the arrest, Spanish Infobae report.
Rodriguez was arrested by the police following the July 23 ambush assassination of her former boyfriend in a town in Magdalena Medio known as Pied cuesta.
As reported by the New York Post, the femme fatale, whose name has not been released, called her ex-boyfriend Deyvy Jesus and invited him to meet purportedly to sort out a business difference over money, said police.
But the poor beau was peppered with bullets when two men rode by on a motorcycle, supposedly to eliminate him for “The Doll,” the report mentioned.
Paula Valentina Joya Rueda, 24 years old who was arrested together with Rodriguez uses Gorda Sicaria moniker as published in Libertad Digital.
Another complice, known as “Leopoldo,” was arrested alongside “The Doll” — and during the arrests, police said they found a revolver as well as a 9-millimeter pistol.
Authorities are trying to find out whether those weapons were used in any of the recent murders, local sources indicate.
This is, the capture of alias La Muneca and alias Leopoldo has led to cessation of crime in the region. They said these arrests show that progress is being made towards the disbanding of criminals behind the recent murders, noted Lt. Col. Muaricio Herrara of the Magdalena Medio police to Infobae.
The World Population Review indicates that, Bucaramanga, Colombia with a population of slightly over 1,300,000 people, has a homicide rate of one for every three days.
There is no word from officials, and to the date of writing this news, they have not disclosed the charges La Muneca, and her supposed accomplices, will be indicted for.
