United States: South Carolina has declared a state of emergency because wildfires in the state caused by windy and dry weather conditions have driven people from their homes through several evacuation areas.

National Weather Service reported over 175 fires, which burned through 6.6 square miles of state territory when they issued an alert about elevated fire risks in the area.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission reported that fire numbers decreased to 163 on early Monday.
Governor Henry McMaster imposed a state of emergency in South Carolina on Sunday to assist wildfire operations while the state implemented a burning prohibition across the entire territory.

Evacuation order by officials underway
Officials ordered evacuations for several Horry County neighborhoods that fell under the influence of multiple fires, sky.com reported.
Soldiers operated two Blackhawk helicopters, which released water in 600-gallon portions to battle the burning areas, according to Sunday statements from the South Carolina National Guard.
Officials from Horry County Fire Rescue stated that firefighting teams gained control of the wildfire in Carolina Forest, although numerous neighborhoods required temporary evacuation orders.
Moreover, several residents rushed through the streets until smoke clouds enveloped the entire region.
The Horry County Fire Rescue updated the population of Carolina Forest to return home by the end of Sunday.
According to the Red Cross of South Carolina, approximately 135 people from Carolina Forest settled at a county recreation center.
The fire consumed approximately 2.5 square miles within the affected region, as the South Carolina Forestry Commission estimated Sunday evening.
Fire services faced challenges in wildfire containment among the four North Carolina forests during their firefighting efforts.
According to the North Carolina Forest Service, on Sunday, the firefighting effort showed advancements because the fire reached about one-third of its containment goal, sky.com reported.
