United States: A small plane crashed on a highway in Westchester County, killing one person and injuring another. The crash happened on I-684, just short of Westchester County Airport.
The pilot, a 32-year-old man from Monsey, died in the crash. Another person who was onboard is in stable condition. The pilot had been trying to land safely when the plane fell from the sky.
Debris from the single-engine plane was scattered near Exit 2 as workers and rescue teams rushed to pull people from the plane as the fire spread.
As reported by the Abc, it got worse on the flight when it began to get a bit bumpy and suddenly the airplane plummeted.
The pilot had been attempting to attempt an emergency landing at the airport that closed to the scene.

The plane that never got to its intended destination, was airborne from Linden, New Jersey shortly after 6:00 p.m. on a flight path that was North up the Hudson when in what one witness named as a ‘controlled crash’ the plane descended at approximately 1,000 feet a minute and turned right towards White Plains.
The National Transportation Safety Board reported the crash, only one hour and fifteen minutes after take-off.
The NTSB and the FAA will determine precisely what went wrong.
The name of the pilot and the man who was with him when he was detained has not been announced.
The scene on I-684 has been opened and unblocked after the crash.
Kathy Hochul, the governor of New York, also came up with a statement following the plane crash on Thursday night.
There is a case of a small aircraft that has crashed near Exit 2 on I-684 in the City of Harrison in Westchester County. State Police quickly arrived at the scene along with local emergency crews and identified there were two people onboard one of them has been confirmed dead while the second one is critically injured. The highway has been closed in both directions while the investigation goes on.
The crash also resulted to an aviation gas leakage, and DEC has been keen in ensuring it prevents the spread and to neutralize it. It has been touching to see the raw emotions of the families of those on board during this catastrophe, and I hope the injured amongst them are accorded a safe recovery.
