United States: Elon Musk has announced that his offer to pay USD 1 billion to rename Wikipedia is still available. This offer came after someone posted that “Wikipedia is not for sale,” to which Musk responded, saying his proposal would remain on the table for at least one more year. Musk’s unusual plan has caught attention as he continues to make headlines with bold ideas and offers.

As reported by MSN, after Doge Designer, who often receives Musk’s responses on X, shared the contents of the post, Musk said the offer is still on the table.

As per Doge Design post, Elon Musk had offered Wikipedia USD 1 billion to rename itself to Dickipedia. And yes, Musk replied quickly, it’s true, and to be valid, the offer is still valid. The Wikipedia isn’t sure that it’s ready to accept Musk’s offer.

However, the offer itself, which it made available in October of last year, has been well covered.

According to Musk’s initial post:

Musk also posted a photo to Twitter last year with the caption ‘Wikipedia is not for sale.’ “It says have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation wanted so much money?”

Musk criticized it, saying: “Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation wanted so much money? Don’t get me wrong, there is no need to operate Wikipedia. The text basically fits onto your phone itself! So, what is the money for? Enquiring minds want to know.

In a separate post, he said he’d give them a billion dollars if they changed their name to Dickipedia, and he’d do it ‘in the interests of accuracy.’

When a user responded in reply to @Wikipedia with “do it!” It’s one year minimum, you can always change it back after you collect,” Musk said. As highlighted by Times of India, I mean, I’m not a fool, lol.
