United States: Hurricane Helene’s destructive route through six states resulted in nearly 150 deaths, thousands of displaced people, and millions without electricity.

However, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Biden-Harris administration has been revealed to prioritize “equity” among its objectives.

FEMA’s three “ambitious goals” are outlined in its 2022–2026 strategic plan. The first is ensuring equity is the first priority in emergencies or disasters, according to reports.

Although the Category 4 storm left a wasteland in its wake along the Southern Atlantic coast, the federal agency responsible for providing disaster relief following a hurricane, FEMA, is committed to equity to enable communities to effectively manage the growing variety and complexity of disasters within their “diverse” sphere.

The long-term, broad objectives outlined in the plan adapt to our shifting circumstances. While some of the plan’s tasks can be completed soon, others will need work through 2026, according to the plan.

The website said, “The plan outlines three bold, ambitious goals to meet this challenge.” “With the support of these goals, FEMA will be better equipped to handle the growing variety and complexity of disasters, uphold the diversity of the communities we serve, and meet the nation’s increasing demands of the emergency management community.”

Many people on social media believe these objectives are distorted and utterly unrelated to reality.

Elon Musk commented on a Libs of TikTok post reposted by X, saying, “If you’re wondering why the reaction to Hurricane Helene has been so disastrous, establish equity as the cornerstone of emergency management is Fema’s first objective. This is not fictitious, as per reports.

FEMA’s first three objectives are to “instill equity as a foundation of emergency management,” “lead the whole community in climate resilience,” and “promote and sustain a ready FEMA and a prepared nation.”

As a community in Florida was utterly destroyed and counties in North Carolina were inundated with water, President Joe Biden has come under fire from the media for appearing to be indifferent to the seriousness of the situation.

Reportedly, as the Daily Caller pointed out, the Washington Free Beacon reported that in August 2023, FEMA was holding training on “white supremacy” for its staff even though over a thousand Hawaiians might become victims of the Maui wildfires.

Because it argued that racial supremacy is “ingrained in nearly every system and institution in the US,” FEMA conducted the three-hour training sessions.

What are your thoughts on FEMA’s priorities for handling disasters?
