Biden to meet with families of American hostages by Hamas

United States: President Joe Biden will hold an in-person meeting with the families of Americans whom Hamas has taken hostage during its brutal attack on Israel on October 7, according to the official information shared by the two White House Officials. Although presently it was unclear that how many families will attend the White House gathering in person or by video conference.

According to authorities, Biden has already met digitally with some family members and spoken over the phone with others, according to the report by the news agency Associated Press. The officials discussed Biden’s schedule on the condition of anonymity. 

President Joe Biden guarantees them that “we are not going to let loose the sight of their loved ones, we’re not going to stop trying to get them home,” the National Security council spokesperson John Kirby said during a conversation with CNN Politics, as he was previewed Biden’s message to the families.

Kirby stressed that hourly, US officials are “trying to get more information about them and to get a deal in place where can get them back home.”

According to the report by NBC News, seven Americans are still missing following Hamas ‘ surprise air, sea, and land onslaught into Israeli communities, which took lives of 1200 Israelis, mainly civilians, and more than 240 individuals were taken to hostage by the group.

The White House said that at least 31 Americans were killed on October 7 by Hamas and another extremist group. Four Americans were released as part of US negotiated cease-fire in Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, which Qatar and Egypt assisted. 
 
According to a senior administration source, Biden will be accompanied in the meeting by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer.
