United States: The DNC’s newest ad campaign, launched on Friday, mocks Trump for refusing to debate Kamala Harris and will trail his campaign events, as reported by Reuters.

Ads Accuse Trump of Fear and Obstruction

Recent large ads that take the entire width of homepages of major local papers across the states Trump intends to visit in the next one or two weeks have been bought by the DNC. The ads state that “the convicted felon is afraid to debate” and thus ask whether it is because of abortion.

The first ads are being placed on the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s website before Trump visits the Georgia capital on Saturday and will accompany him through the local media outlets at each rally stop, according to the DNC.

Trump was reported to have emerged as a bigger winner in the June 27 debate with Biden, whose frailty raised voters’ anxiety about his age again. The two had set a second date for the debate on September 10th.

Following Biden’s withdrawal from the vice presidency on July 21 and Harris’s endorsement, Trump stated on July 25 that he would not debate with her since she was not the right candidate. He went further to say that Obama, the former President of America, has never supported her in any way, which is evidence that there is no support for her campaign. The following day, Obama supported Kamala Harris.

New surveys indicate that the gap between Harris and Trump is pretty small, while Trump used to have a more significant advantage over Biden after the first debate.

Trump Proposes Debate Venue Change

Trump has proposed that the debate scheduled for the night of Sept. 10 on ABC News be shifted to Fox News. On Wednesday, during a telephone conference with reporters, Trump was asked whether he would agree to at least one debate with Harris. He responded, “Oh yes, indeed, I’d like to,” and he said there was a responsibility to do so.

On Monday, particularly, Fox host Laura Ingraham continued to ask Trump questions about the debate in several instances. “The answer is yes, but I can also make a case of not doing it,” are a few words from Donald Trump.

This has become a subject of debate, and Harris seems keen on defending it. On Tuesday, during a campaign rally, Harris took Trump by the scruff of the neck and told him to think again.

“I do hope you’ll reconsider. Meet me on the debate stage … because as the saying goes, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face,” Harris said.

Trump’s Latest Remarks on Debate Participation

On Friday, Trump stated he was not eager for a debate with Harris citing the fact that the polls showed that he was ahead and the voters were aware of his stands and those of his Democratic opponent, as reported by Reuters.

“Well, I want to,” Trump said on Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria. “Right now, I say, ‘Why should I do a debate?’ I’m leading in the polls, and everybody knows her; everybody knows me.”
